SWALCO collecting chemical waste May 16
The Solid Waste Agency of Lake County is hosting a household chemical waste collection from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Metra train station, Route 45 and Ranney Road, Vernon Hills.
Accepted materials include aerosol products, antifreeze and motor oil, furniture stripper and varnish, household cleaners, oil-based paint and paint removers.
Latex paint, propane tanks, lead-acid and alkaline batteries, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors are among the items not accepted.
