Women's group toasts volunteers at anniversary luncheon

Founded in 1985, Women in Development North is celebrating its 30th year and hosted a special volunteer appreciation luncheon to honor this anniversary as well as past leadership and volunteers of member organizations.

On Tuesday, May 5, at the Evanston Golf Club in Skokie, 55 WIDN members, past presidents and volunteers gathered for a luncheon to recognize the rich history of advancing women in the fundraising profession, who work on the north side of Chicago or in the North or Northwest suburbs, as well as women in transition and those interested in the fundraising field.

The theme was "Celebrate Service" and the 70 members of WIDN were invited to recognize a key volunteer at their organization as part of this event.

HandsOn Suburban Chicago recognized Daniela Enea, skilled volunteer who has dramatically enhanced the organizations' marketing efforts. Daniela has served HOSC for nearly two years and has provided almost 200 hours of volunteer hours managing the bimonthly newsletter creation and distribution as well has helping with a variety of marketing projects. Daniela is completing her bachelor's degree in May 2015 from North Park University.

"Daniela has played a significant role in HOSC's marketing strategy," said Patty Neuswanger, senior director of Community Investment. "We now have consistent and quality messaging that is reaching all of our stakeholders and that has positively impacted volunteer engagement for our member organizations.
