Softball: Fox Valley roundup Saturday, May 9

St. Edward 8, Larkin 0: Junior Lindsay Zdroik was 3-for-4 with 2 home runs, a double and 4 RBI, and she threw a 4-hitter with 15 strikeouts and no walks to lead the Green Wave (18-6-1) to the nonconference win. Megan Strong went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for St. Edward while Allison Stratman was 2-for-4 and Devyn Ernst had a double and 2 RBI. Alexa Urbanik had 2 hits for the Royals (4-19) and Emily Rojo was the losing pitcher.

Huntley 8, Burlington Central 1: Hayley O'Mara (3-for-4, 3 RBI), winning pitcher Tiffany Giese (2-for-3, RBI) and Autumn Kasal (2 RBI) each hit home runs to lead the Red Raiders (16-5) to a nonconference win. Megan Larson (2B) and Megan Baczewski each added 2 hits for Huntley. Giese allowed just 6 hits with 10 strikeouts and 1 walk. Kristina Ahlers (2B) and Emily Kisch each had 2 hits for the Rockets (12-12) and Ashley Ratliff took the loss in the circle.

Jacobs splits: Alexis Addante threw a 4-hitter while Teaghan Richman (2-for-4, 4 RBI) and Emily Borg (3 RBI) each hit home runs to lead Jacobs to a 7-0 win over Harlem and a split of a nonconference doubleheader. Sarah Murray added 2 hits in the win. In the opener, Taylor Belo had a home run and a triple and 2 RBI but the Golden Eagles (12-15) gave up a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to fall 5-4. Borg and Kerri Healy had doubles in the loss and Richman was the losing pitcher.
