Libertyville's Heraty hurls no-hitter at Grant

Hannah Heraty fired a five-inning no-hitter, and Lyndsey Lyon homered, as Libertyville's softball team blanked Grant 15-0 in its first of two games at Bartlett on Saturday.

Heraty struck out seven and didn't walk a batter.

Kenzie Rother led the way offensively for the Wildcats, going 4-for-4. Jamie Stevens (double), Franny Quenan, Lyon and Sarah Hoyer each had 2 hits.

Round Lake 6, Highland Park 5: The Panthers scored in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the nonconference game.

Hayley Steinberg went 3-for-4 to pace the Panthers' 11-hit attack. Both Katie Bleim (double) and winning pitcher Ashley Wegner (2 runs, RBI) were 2-for-3. Liz Vandergrif had an RBI double for Round Lake, and Kylie Bart knocked in a pair of runs.

McHenry 7, Lake Zurich 5: Sarah Schnecker homered, singled and drove in a pair of runs for the visiting Bears, who led 4-2 heading into the bottom of the fifth of the nonconference game.

That's when McHenry scored 5 runs.

Both Schnecker and Vanessa DiVincenzo were 2-for-4 for Lake Zurich. McKenna Zobel had a double.

Richmond-Burton 5, Lakes 5: Cassidy Schaar belted a solo home run for the Eagles in their nonconference loss.

Lakes trailed 5-1 after two innings.

Warren 10, Richmond-Burton 0: On Friday, Hannah Nommensen pitched a five-inning no-hitter in the nonconference game.

The sophomore right-hander struck out 10 and walked two.

Julienne Egofske hit a 3-run homer for Warren (23-2), while Nicole Somppi went 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBI. The Blue Devils also received 2 hits apiece from Emily Hudgins, Sabrina Trevino and Rachele Belletini.
