North: NFL can't tarnish Brady's legacy

Time for random thoughts, and I have a million rolling around in this cranium of mine.

• New England Patriots four-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Tom Brady's legacy will not be tarnished, but there is a little rust from his "awareness of inappropriate activities" in Deflategate.

• The St. Louis Cardinals, by ar are the best organization in baseball today, and sadly the Chicago White Sox may be the worst.

• When LeBron James wants to play a complete game, no one has a chance to beat him.

• Chicago did a tremendous job with the NFL draft, and our city looked great.

• If there is a team that can beat the Blackhawks, I believe they aren't playing this year. May I also remind you that I said not to worry about the Minnesota Wild playing the Hawks?

• Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn are kaput after a three-year relationship. Vonn refuses to talk about their break up, but she didn't like golf and looked incredibly uncomfortable at the Masters par three contest just a few weeks back. Good luck to both.

• Derrick Rose's stats are much better with more than one day of rest (24 points) than they are with one day or less (14 points). I guess it makes sense for a guy who has sustained the injuries he has.

• The Bears will not make the playoffs this year, and general manager Ryan Pace may have to change his best player available strategy. The Bears aren't in a position for that to work effectively at this point. Giving Jay Cutler another receiver is admirable, but this team should have gone defense from beginning to end. They gave up 50+ points twice last year and then take receivers. No no no!

• I haven't been much of a Chris Paul fan, but playing hurt and hitting the game- winner in Game 7 against the San Antonio Spurs was Paul's signature game for the L.A. Clippers.

• I stopped at Wolfy's on Peterson the other day and had fries and two Chicago hot dogs with everything on them: mustard, relish, onions, tomatoes, pickles, and a couple of dynamite sticks topped with celery salt and a tamale. Now that's heaven on earth!

• Is four-time Kentucky Derby winner Bob Baffert a great trainer or does he just get the best horses? I think it's a combination of both.

• I change the channel if I'm watching a New York Yankees' game and Alex Rodriguez comes up to bat.

• So it turns out Manny Pacquiao is a fraud; I really didn't see that one coming. Lying about an injury under oath has resulted in two class-action suits being filed against him.

• If you haven't checked out the documentary about the outspoken Pittsburgh Pirate pitcher Dock Ellis, please do.

• Based on their latest ruling over the tiebreaker process, the Big 12 doesn't seem to want a conference championship. They just don't get it.

• Happy Mother's Day to my mom and all the great moms out there!
