214@100: Latinos unidos - a Hispanic voice at RMHS

The Latino community at Rolling Meadows High School has been given a voice, that comes in the form of an organization called Latinos Unidos. Counselors T.J. Velazquez and Gabriela Medina took over the club last year.

"We thought that it was important that we continued to give a voice to Latinos and our culture," Velazquez said.

The club offers multiple activities for students, including service opportunities like mentoring middle school students, helping out at open house nights and volunteering through community service.

"Students feel a sense of identity with our club," Velazquez said, adding that Latinos Unidos students continuously work to enhance the club's presence and extend their community reach.
