Middle class depends on unions' strength
Criticism of unions seems to be misdirected. The process of collective bargaining, or unions if you will, is necessary in our society to maintain a level field of benefits, wages, and protections across the classes of working people.
The companies and governing bodies should be competing on the merits of proper management and efficiencies of operation. Their profits shouldn't be based on how little they can make their employees earn or the benefits taken away.
Public employees should also be represented by responsible negotiators, not by politicians who seem to be more concerned with getting re-elected than protecting the budgets of their governing bodies.
Folks need to wake up, or the middle class power they have will be eliminated.
