BMW executive to speak in Rosemont

ROSEMONT - Richard Morris, vice president of assembly and logistics at BMW Manufacturing Co. in Greer, SC, will be the keynote speaker at the third annual Assembly Show, scheduled for Oct. 27-29 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Morris will speak during the opening day keynote Oct. 28. Morris will present on new technology advancements, including the use of collaborative robots that help workers perform final door assembly, the use of material handling equipment powered by hydrogen fuel cells to shuttle parts and supplies throughout the plant, and how the facility is running a pilot project to determine whether the Google Glass wearable computer could improve workflow in quality assurance.
