Empire of Deception Author to Visit Schaumburg Township District Library

Author Dean Jobb will tell the true story of 1920s Chicago master swindler, Leo Koretz, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, in the Rasmussen Room of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg. Visiting from Nova Scotia, Jobb is the author of Empire of Deception, which details the almost incomprehensible account of how Koretz spent years conning wealthy Chicago businessmen out of millions of dollars, then disappeared with the money. The chronicle of Koretz's eventual capture and death will provide the audience with as much drama as his crimes.

After the presentation, attendees are invited to meet Jobb, who is an award-winning writer and journalist, as well as author of six previous books. Copies of Empire of Deception will be available for purchase and signing following the author's presentation. Registration is required for this free program. To register, call (847) 923-3347 or visit the Adult Information Desk on the library's second floor.
