Fire temporarily closes road in Grayslake

Belvidere Road was closed between John Mogg Road and Mill Road in Grayslake early Monday due to a shed fire, authorities said. Battalion chief Mike Rutkowski said firefighters were called to the fire in the 1800 block of Belvidere Road at 5:31 a.m. and saw flames coming from inside the shed. Firefighters extinguished the fire and left the scene within 45 minutes, Rutkowski said. No injuries were reported because of the fire, which destroyed the shed, officials said. The roadway was closed for about 30 minutes while firefighters put out the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
