Letter to the Editor: They represent union, not taxpayers

So our aldermen and mayor are about to raise water, electric and sewer rates by over 10 percent without even asking a question. I suspect the rate increase was needed to cover union contracts. Public sector unions are the bane of all taxpayers.

Perhaps the rate increase could have been avoided if our aldermen would collectively come up with a solution to fill the plethora of empty store fronts in downtown St. Charles.

I encourage every resident to remember this next election cycle and get rid of this mayor and all of the city council who represent unions and not the taxpayers.
