Softball: Fox Valley roundup Tuesday, April 28

Larkin 12, West Chicago 1: Haley Bohne went 3-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI, Sophie Young had 3 hits and 2 RBI and Alexa Urbanik added 3 hits and an RBI as the Royals (4-14, 3-8) won their second straight in the Upstate Eight River. Bella Aguinaga was 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and Sam Wahl went 2-for-4 for Larkin. Megan Chwee's RBI single in the fifth inning ended the game on the slaughter rule. Emily Rojo got the win for the Royals, allowing just 3 hits.

Jacobs 12, Woodstock North 4: Taylor Belo was 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, Emily Borg went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Halley Lonigro went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI and Katie Borchert was 2-for-3 with an RBI as Jacobs (9-13) won this Fox Valley Conference crossover. Teaghan Richman, winning pitcher Alexis Addante and Corrie Cotugno each drove in runs for the Golden Eagles as well.

Metea Valley 5, South Elgin 0: Cassidy Westlund had a double but the Storm (8-11, 6-5) managed only 4 hits in this UEC Valley loss. Karli Dobler was the losing pitcher.

CL South 11, Woodstock 1: Carly Chovanec was 2-for-3 with 2 triples and an RBI and Taylor Kassel had 2 hits and 2 RBI to lead the Gators (11-6) to an FVC crossover win. Kim Woods and Hailee Massie (RBI) each had doubles for Crystal Lake South while Jenica Terry, Sam Burgard, Eve Perdikaris, Taylor Doppke and Brittany Baker also drove in runs. Hannah Koenig picked up the win in the circle for the Gators.

Prairie Ridge 3, Cary-Grove 1: Cary-Grove had 12 hits but could only score once in this FVC crossover loss. Caitlyn Adams had 3 hits for the Trojans (6-11) with Brianne Prank, Sarah Purpura and Rachel Langner (RBI) each getting 2 hits. Adams was the losing pitcher.

Huntley 10, Grayslake Central 1: Tiffany Giese (2 RBI), Megan Larson (2B), Shannon Walsh (RBI), Jessica Shields (RBI), Megan Baczewski (2B, 4 RBI), Autumn Kasal (RBI) and Hayley O'Mara each had 2 hits for Huntley (13-5) in its FVC crossover win. Kateri Conklin (10-3) allowed just 4 hits and had 6 strikeouts and 6 walks in picking up the win.

St. Charles North 11, Elgin 1: Jemiyah Stewart was 2-for-3 with a double for Elgin (3-16, 2-9) in the Upstate Eight River. Jenna Lombardo took the loss.
