Lake Forest Civic Orchestra concert

The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra returns to the newly renovated Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, for the last concert of its 2014-15 concert season, Sunday, May 3. The program begins at 4 p.m. and includes Hanson's Symphony No. 2, Khachaturian's Masquerade Suite, and Von Weber's Oberon Overture. Frank Lestina, former director of the Libertyville and Vernon Hills High School Orchestras for 27 years, will guest conduct the orchestra. The orchestra has performed under four guest conductors this season, and one will be chosen at season's end to be its next music director. Tickets for the fourth and final concert in this year's "Celebrating the Symphony" series, are $20 for adults and $10 for seniors/students and are available at the door and online at lakeforestcivicorchestra.org. Fresh Market of Lake Forest is sponsoring a post-concert reception.
