Baseball: Fox Valley roundup Friday, April 24

Johnny Johnson singled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Tripp Paris with the tying run, and Myles Zilinsky's walk-off single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth brought home Austin Hilvert with the game-winner as Bartlett;s baseball team defeated Larkin 6-5 Friday.

Cory Krolikowski doubled, tripled, walked twice and scored twice, and Zilinsky earned the Upstate Eight crossover win with 2 scoreless relief innings for Bartlett (10-7, 7-3), which snapped a 3-game slide. Larkin starting pitcher Nick Fillmore took a no-decision after 7 innings in which he allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 8 hits and 2 walks and struck out 3. Reliever Keegan Anderson absorbed the loss. Jon Lenz had 2 hits and Johnny Avila doubled twice for Larkin (7-10, 4-6).

Harvest Christian Academy 10, Berean Baptist 0 (5 inn.): Dylan Lockwood threw a 1-hit shutout and Drew Lewis and Dominich Olech each delivered 3 hits to lead the Lions (3-4).

Crystal Lake South 6, Dundee-Crown 3: Winning pitcher Matt Schingel limited the Chargers to 3 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and 3 walks and he struck out 5 in a complete-game Fox Valley Conference Valley Division win. Garrett Bright and Derek Bulger led a 10-hit attack with 2 hits apiece and each drove in a run for CL South (15-2, 6-1). Erik Hedmark doubled and Danny Denz took the loss despite allowing just 1 earned run on 2 hits and 5 walks in innings. He struck out 5 for Dundee-Crown (12-6, 5-2).

Hamsphire 10, Grayslake North 4: Visiting Hampshire stormed to an 8-0 lead through 2½ innings in support of starting pitcher Alex Crinigan, who struck out 5, walked 3 and allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits in 5⅓ innings. Tristyn Ross doubled and knocked in 3 runs and Michael Kruse and Matt Kielbasa each drove in a pair for Hampshire (11-5, 2-4) in this Fox Valley Conference Fox Division matchup.
