Pauscher powers into Elk Grove record book

One day after tying her school's single-season record for home runs in a softball season, Sarah Pauscher put an exclamation point on it Wednesday.

The Elk Grove junior third baseman set the record by belting two more, including a 3-run blast in the top of the first as the Grenadiers went on to a 13-0 victory over visiting Prospect in five innings.

Becca Maher set the Grens' record last year with 13 homers.

With 15, Pauscher has half of the Grens' 30 homers this spring. She has hit at least one in the Grens last eight games and has 10 during that span.

Pauscher ended up 3-for-3 in the game with 5 RBI, including a solo homer in the third inning and an RBI single in the fourth.
