Submitted by David Adler Music and Arts Center

The David Adler Music & Arts Center Concert Series will host a performance by the classical chamber ensemble Chicago Q at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Libertyville.

"We're delighted to bring Chicago Q to the North Shore," program coordinator Heather Williamson said. "It's a great opportunity to hear world-class music in your own backyard."

The League of American Orchestras' Symphony Magazine recognizes Chicago Q as an emerging leader in their field. The ensemble has been recognized for their innovative work in reshaping the perception of what chamber music performance can be. Lawrence Johnson of the Classical Review praises Chicago Q for delivering "expressive, superbly communicative performances."

For their first North Shore concert, Chicago Q Ensemble will play a diverse program for strings and piano featuring selections from Mozart's crown jewel, the E-flat Major Divertimento, as well as composer Andrew Norman's Pulitzer Prize-nominated trio, "A Companion Guide to Rome."

At the end of the night, guest pianist Katherine Lee will join the ensemble to perform Brahms' G Minor piano quartet, one of the most beloved pieces in the repertoire.

Tickets for Chicago Q Ensemble at Holy Cross Lutheran Church may be purchased online at www.adlercenter.org or by calling (847) 367-0707. Early booking is recommended. Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for Adler members, and $20 for general admission. Holy Cross Lutheran Church is at 29700 N St. Mary's Road, Libertyville.
