214@100: Professional musician found her passion at BGHS

Buffalo Grove High School alumna Jamie Leff has become a true success since her 2009 graduation. Leff began playing trumpet and the French horn in teacher Ed Jacobi's Jazz Improv class at Buffalo Grove, and later moved on to playing the French horn in the school's Symphony Orchestra. Now, she has been with the Chicago Civic Orchestra for two years. Leff feels her love of music and passion for the French horn were shaped within the walls of Buffalo Grove High School's orchestra and band rooms, and says that is where she discovered that she wanted to spend her life playing music. She attended the Jacobs School of Music at the University of Indiana, and has recently been attending DePaul University to get her degree in Horn Performance.
