Believe Project: $100 for sister suffering from migraines after crash
Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Mary Kay Whalen of Mundelein.
Here is an excerpt of her suggestion:
"My sister was seriously injured in a car accident in July 2013. She had two back surgeries last summer. She has been turned down for disability recently. A month and a half ago she was suffering from chronic migraines and has been in the hospital twice.
"The medicine is giving her extreme side effects and she still regularly is bedridden with migraines. It has been recommended she get a Botox treatment. This is not covered by Medicaid, and one shot is $106. I have read and she heard from her doctor this can improve the migraines 85-90 percent."
• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. However, all of the money collected has been committed and we no longer are accepting submissions.
