Baseball: Lake County roundup

Willie Bourbon had a home run and drove in 3 runs Saturday to help Stevenson earn an 11-7 win over Naperville Central in a nonconference baseball matchup.

Jimmy Marchese added a double for the Patriots, who are now 8-2. Pitcher Justin Stark got the win. He gave up no earned runs in four innings.

Grant 21, Lakeview 11: It was a game of home runs. Scott Porten and James Pendley each homered for Grant while Ben Collazo of Lakeview went 3-for-3, and all 3 of his hits were home runs. He drove in 6 runs. Hunter Sadoski (2-0) was the winning pitcher.

Grant 12, DePaul Prep 0: Michael Bengston went 3-for-3 with a 3-run home run to lead Grant. He also had a double and drove in 4 runs. Blain Kugel went 2-for-2 for the Bulldogs. Bryan Libby (4-0) was the winning pitcher, rolling up 5 strikeouts in five innings.

Vernon Hills 5, Grayslake Central 4: Drew Winegardner led Vernon Hills with 2 hits. Greg Gauger had 2 hits for Grayslake Central. Pitcher Sam Perlin earned the win, going four innings. Ben Geren earned the save.

Grayslake Central 9, Vernon Hills 8: Greg Gauger went 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in 4 runs to lead Grayslake Central. All of his hits were doubles. The Rams also got 2 hits apiece out of Sam Nozicka and Ben Fitzgerald. For Vernon Hills, Sam Perlin went 4-for-4 at the plate while Brendan Keogh, Ben Geren and Jack Duffley each finished with 2 hits.

Lake Forest 5, Lake Zurich 3: Sam Warady had a double for Lake Zurich, which had 7 errors on the game.

Conant 6, Lake Zurich 4: Jacob Kubin and Trevor Staley each had 2 hits for Lake Zurich. Teammate Zach Bauman had a double.

Glenbrook South 7, Libertyville 6: Riley Lees went 4-for-5 from the plate with a double but it wasn't enough for Libertyville.

Palatine 5, Antioch 3: Antioch was behind 4-1 through four innings.

Waukegan 7, Lakes 6: Ben Milewski, Chase Slota and Matt Nordlund each had 2 hits for Lakes (5-5-1). Milewski, Slota and Cody Nuxoll all had doubles.
