Everything you need to know to vote today

Tuesday is Election Day, and all voters who haven't already cast their ballots in the early voting period can head to the polls to vote. Here's what you need to know.

What will your ballot look like?

Go to your county's Web page to preview your ballot:

Cook County

DuPage County

Kane County

Lake County

McHenry County

Will County

Whom you're voting for

Some mayors, local trustees, community college boards, school boards, park boards, library boards and local referendums. Find a summary of Daily Herald endorsements at dailyherald.com.

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Illinois residents who are registered to vote and have not participated in early voting can cast their ballot at their designated polling place. If your name does not appear on the official voting list, you can cast a provisional ballot, to be counted after you're determined eligible to vote.

You can find your polling place on the Illinois Board of Elections Web page.

Need help?

If you need help with voting or observe suspicious activity at the polls, call the Illinois State Board of Elections at (312) 814-6440 or (217) 782-4141. The 100 feet around a polling place is a campaign-free zone. No one is allowed to solicit votes or influence voters in that area.

Illinois residents who have disabilities and need assistance, and voters who cannot read or write the English language, can receive assistance at the polls.
