Fremd prevails at Schaumburg

Fremd 2, Schaumburg 0: Visiting Fremd scored once in each half to earn a Mid-Suburban West girls soccer victory on Saturday, 2-0 against Schaumburg.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kelsey Stone earn a shutout as the Vikings (1-2, 1-1) earned their first victory of the season.

Sophomore Sam Tyler and Alexis Orozco both played a half for Schaumburg (1-5, 0-2).

Cary-Grove 3, Elk Grove 0: Miranda Malone earned a shutout for the host Trojans in nonconference play.

Elgin 2, Leyden 0: Maroons senior Bopha Travis scored both goals and Hannah Demel earned a shutout with 4 saves as Elgin netted a nonconference decision.
