St. Edward 1, ICCP 0: Jack Tierney fired a 3-hitter with 13 strikeouts and Gino Domel scored the winning run on a balk in the bottom of the eighth as the Green Wave (1-1, 1-0) opened Metro Suburban West play with a win at Wing Park. Jake LaFrenz's double was the Wave's only hit of the game.
Hampshire 6, Streamwood 1: Tyler Schutt was 2-for-4 and Austin Luchtman had 2 RBI to lead the Whip-Purs (3-0) to a nonconference win. Jacob Manning picked up the win in relief for Hampshire, striking out 7, walking none and allowing 3 hits in 6 innings. Keegan Cordone had a double for the Sabres (0-2). Jonah Seckel took the loss.
Westminster Christian 5, Harvest Christian 4: Nathan Martinez had a pinch-hit double to score Adam Greene, who had doubled, with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to lead the Warriors (2-0, 1-0) to this Northeastern Athletic Conference win. Ian Merlock had 2 doubles for Westminster while Tyler Marmot and Frank Angiulo added one each. Losing pitcher Zach Pawlek had the only hit of the day for the Lions (0-2, 0-1), a double.
Harlem 8, Elgin 0: Eddy Ramos and Andrew Hardt had the only hits for the Maroons (1-3) in this nonconference loss.
Fremd 2, Cary-Grove 1: Larkin Hanselmann was 2-for-3 with a double and Tyler Pennington had an RBI but the Trojans (3-4-1) fell in this nonconference game in Palatine. Nick Franz suffered the loss for Cary-Grove.
