Hanover Park police to close roads for Good Friday procession

Hanover Park police will enforce road closures to make way for worshippers recreating the Stations of the Cross in a street procession on Good Friday.

St. Ansgar Catholic Church parishioners will act out the final chapters of Christ's life in the Via Crucis, or Way of the Cross, along a route through Hanover Park neighborhoods.

The procession begins noon Friday from the church, 2040 Laurel Ave. Roads closed from noon until 3 p.m. are:

• Laurel Avenue between Center Avenue and Church Street

• Church Street between Laurel Avenue and Walnut Avenue

In addition, there will be no parking on those streets from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Police will be posted at intersections along the route to help with traffic control.
