Mazda dealers donate money to Greater Chicago Food Depository

On Friday, March 20, the Greater Chicago Food Depository received a donation from representatives of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana Mazda Dealers.

The donation, in the amount of $28,050, is the result of the Mazda Drive for Good charitable giving campaign, which ran Nov. 21, 2014, through Jan. 2, 2015.

For every new Mazda vehicle purchased during the time period, Mazda donated $150 to one of four national charity organizations or a local charity option closer to home selected by Mazda Dealer Marketing Groups. The amount donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository was determined by the customers in the Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana area.

As part of the overall program, Mazda North American Operations will be donating $4,937,850 to select charities in 2015, a 79.4 percent increase over 2014.

In addition to the monetary donation, Mazda employees and dealers across the nation also will donate more than 66,000 charitable service hours in 2015 through various local charitable service opportunities, an increase of 17.5 percent over 2014.
