Missing deaf teenager last seen in Naperville

The Naperville Police Department is asking the public for help in finding a missing deaf teenager.

Chanyaa Bennett, 13, is described as a black female, approximately 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 150 pounds with long black hair and dark brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, pink and black pajama pants and turquoise shoes, according to a Sunday night news release.

The teen was last seen 4:30 p.m. Sunday near Brookline Court and Springhill Drive in Naperville's Springhill subdivision.

Chanyaa is deaf and cannot speak, and communicates with sign language and writing.

Anyone who may have seen Chanyaa is asked to call the Naperville Police Department at (630) 420-6147.
