Illinois state troopers raise $22,000 for cancer research

Illinois State Police troopers shaved their heads this week and raised $22,000 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation and childhood cancer research. State Police employees, their friends and families joined Team Trooper at a St. Baldrick's event in Willowbrook, where more than $63,000 was raised altogether.

Team Trooper has successfully raised over $158,000 for cancer research since they began participating in the St. Baldrick's Foundation fundraising event in 2008.

"I'm proud of the efforts these officers put forward toward raising money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation," said ISP Director Schmitz. "These officers exemplify what it is to be a police officer as they continue to serve others even when they are not on duty."
