Giant pet expo begins Friday at Arlington Park
The 23rd Annual Chicagoland Family Pet Expo will open Friday, March 20, and continue through Sunday, March 23, at Arlington Park International Racecourse, 2200 W. Euclid Ave., Arlington Heights.
Organizers call it America's largest family pet expo under one roof, featuring entertainment, demonstrations, the latest pet products and hundreds of animal rescue groups.
Among the highlights is the Baseball Pet Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Featured entertainment this year includes That Guy with the Birds featuring performing parrots, Chicago Herpetological Society reptiles you can touch, dog tricks by the Marvelous Mutts and the Happy Jack Trick Act, Weiner Dog Races, Police K9 Demonstrations and the Ultimate Exotic Animal Show by Santa's Village. The event also includes the International Cat Association cat show. And rescue pets at the show range from a 250-pound Saint Bernard to a 5-pound Chihuahua.
Hours are 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission for adults is $10, with a $1 off offer at petchicago.com. From 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, tickets are buy one, get one free. Tickets are $5 for children ages 3-12. Parking is $7.
