Fremont Library to Host Money Smart Week Events

Money Smart Week is an annual public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances. Free workshops will be offered April 18-25 all across Chicagoland. As a Money Smart Week partner, Fremont Public Library is offering the following events:

Reverse Dollar Cost Averaging" Monday, April 20, 12:00-1:00 p.m.What is reverse dollar cost averaging and how does it work for retirees and pre-retirees.Presenters: Lars and Kim Rasmussen of the World Financial Group.

Estate Planning Toolbox

Tuesday, April 21, 2:00 p.m.

In this workshop, you'll become familiar with a range of estate planning tools, what they do, and the terminology they use. Presenter: Karen Chan, Certified Financial Planner.

Prevent Financial Exploitation

Friday, April 24, 12:00-1:00 p.m.

This workshop aims to raise awareness among older adults and their caregivers on how to prevent financial exploitation of the elderly. Presenter: Isela Rios of Mundelein Community Bank.

5 Principles for Smart Money Management

Wednesday, April 22, 7:00 p.m.

Learn what works-and what doesn't work from John F. Wasik, the author of "Keynes's Way to Wealth: Timeless Investment Lessons from the Great Economist" and 13 other books.
