'Bachelor' looks forward to seeing a movie with his fiancee

NEW YORK - So you've found love on reality television that ended with a proposal. Now what?

Well, if you're the star of ABC's "The Bachelor," Chris Soules, you just want to go to the movies.

"I keep telling (fiancee) Whitney Bischoff I want to go see 'American Sniper' with her," Soules said in an interview. "I've been waiting. I just want to go somewhere besides (being) locked down in a house or on a television show."

Soules popped the question last November, but the couple had to keep their relationship a secret until Monday's finale.

It wasn't as difficult for Soules, 33, to keep who he picked to himself. He's a farmer from a small town in Iowa and admittedly is "not around a lot of people."

Bischoff, 29, is a fertility nurse in Chicago and wanted to share her news. She kept herself busy to bide the time.

"When we got home literally the next business day I hit the ground running," she said. "It was important to me because there was that sense of normalcy I wanted to have back, and it was very clear very quickly that this was not going to be normal so it was hard."

Life for the couple won't be exactly ho-hum just yet.

Soules has joined the cast of the new season of "Dancing with the Stars," which premieres Monday. He's partnered with pro dancer Witney Carson, who won last season's mirror ball trophy with actor Alfonso Ribeiro.

Soules said he wouldn't take the opportunity without Bischoff's blessing.

"If she's on board it's an opportunity of a lifetime, and it sounds like a lot of fun," he said.

Fans of the "Bachelor" franchise don't have to wait long for another installment. The next season of "The Bachelorette" begins airing on ABC in May, but with a twist.

Kaitlyn Bristowe and Britt Nilsson, who each competed for Soules' affection on "The Bachelor," will appear on the first episode to meet a group of eligible men. Those guys will then decide who goes forward as the Bachelorette.
