Round Lake preps another Hall of Fame induction class

The Round Lake High School Hall of Fame has announced its 2015 class.

The new inductees are:

• Jaime Krutsch (boys track)

• Dillon Pousson (wrestling)

• Labrenthia Murdock (girls basketball)

• Orville "Pat" Costello (boys and girls tennis coach)

• Rob Rummel (Tom Wittum Award)

• Norbert "Stretch" and Helen Purol (Friends of the Panther)

• Dr. James B. Kowalczyk (Special Award)

• 1991-1992 varsity wrestling team)

• 2008 boys soccer team

The event will take place Saturday, May 9 at the Round Lake Beach Cultural and Civic Center. Doors will open up at 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at RLHS starting on April 8. For tickets or more information, please contact committee chairman Howard Conkling at hconkling@rlas-116.org.

Boys basketball

The College of Lake County High School Summer Shootouts will run June 16-30. There will be doubleheaders on five dates to help reduce conflicts in July with other sports and AAU teams. The doubleheaders will be on the following dates: Tuesday, June 16; Thursday June 18; Tuesday, June 23; Thursday, June 25; and Tuesday, June 30. All teams will play two games each night for a total of 10 games. Scheduling is flexible. The fee for the five days and 10 games is $400. Quality officials and a concession stand will be provided. There will be no gate fee for parents, families, friends or college coaches who are there to watch their teams play. Please send all registration fees and contact information to:
