Springfield museum to hold anniversary celebration
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is celebrating its 10th anniversary and a Lincoln family birthday with a day of activities for children.
Tuesday is the birthday of Eddy Lincoln, who was the second son of Abraham and Mary Lincoln.
Visitors will get to hear stories him from an actress playing Mary Lincoln and there'll be a presentation about Eddy.
The museum will also be collecting items from the Central Illinois Food Bank. Anyone who brings a non-perishable food item will get a discount on admission or a membership. Museum officials say they're particularly on the lookout for green items in of St. Patrick's Day.
The museum opened on April 19, 2005.
