Illinois woman dies in wrong-way crash on Missouri highway

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Authorities say a southwestern Illinois woman was killed after her vehicle ran off a Missouri highway.

Eighty-one-year-old Lorraine Clark of Waterloo, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene early Saturday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says she was driving the wrong direction on Interstate 255 when the crash occurred in south St. Louis County. Police say her car went off the road, struck a fence and went airborne before hitting an embankment.
