Wheeling, Lincolnshire firefighters hold St. Baldrick's head-shaving event

Firefighters were hoping to raise another $50,000 to fight childhood cancer at a fundraiser Saturday at H.O.M.E. Bar, 1227 Rand Road in Arlington Heights.

The head-shaving benefit for the St. Baldrick's Foundation drew hundreds of people, said Emmett Gribbens, president of the Wheeling firefighters union, which co-sponsors the event with the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods firefighters union. The event also included a silent auction and raffle.

The event raised more than $250,000 over the past six years. To donate, visit stbaldricks.org and search for Lincolnshire and Wheeling Professional Firefighters.
