At least 15 vehicles involved in wrecks on bridge
ST. LOUIS (AP) - At least 15 vehicles are damaged after a series of accidents on the Chain of Rocks Bridge in St. Louis.
Illinois State Police say the accidents happened Thursday morning, causing lengthy delays during rush hour. Authorities say five separate accidents occurred. The cause was not immediately known.
One person was taken by ambulance, but authorities believe the injury was not serious.
The first three accidents happened around 8 a.m. Two more wrecks occurred as motorists stopped for traffic backed up from the earlier wrecks.
The bridge carries traffic on Interstate 270 over the Mississippi River.
