Large fight breaks out during game at Indianapolis school

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities say a teenager was arrested and at least one person was injured after a fight broke out during a boys basketball game at an Indianapolis charter school.

Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a large group of people Tuesday night at Andrew J. Brown Academy. Between 30 and 50 people were involved in the fight, including 13- and 14-year-old players and their parents.

Police say the fight began during team handshakes, when a player on the visiting team from Indianapolis Lighthouse Charter School attacked a player on the home team.

A minor was arrested on battery charges, and another student was treated for multiple cuts to the face.

An investigation is ongoing.
