CLC to host Army jazz band:

The U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors will provide a free public performance at the College of Lake County's James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts in Grayslake at 7 p.m., Saturday, March 7. The Jazz Ambassadors is the official touring big band of the United States Army. Formed in 1969, this 19-member ensemble has appeared in all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Japan, India and throughout Europe. They present a diverse program of big band swing, Latin music, contemporary jazz, popular tunes, standards, Dixieland, and patriotic selections. A ticket is required to enter the theater and there is a limit of four tickets per person for the general public. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Visitors are asked to be in their assigned seat by 6:45 p.m. Unclaimed seats will be released at 6:50 p.m. For tickets and details, contact the box office at (847) 543-2300, Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
