Assessment freeze outreach sessions:

Several public outreach sessions to assist residents in completing the 2015 Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze application for taxes payable in 2016, as well as providing information on other available exemptions, will be held at various locations beginning March 16 through May 13. Participants must be 65 or older during the tax year, own the property as the principal residence since Jan. 1, 2014, and have a total household income in 2014 of $55,000 or less. Participants should bring copies of income received, such as a federal income tax return or Social Security statement. The sessions are hosted by the Chief County Assessment Office and the Lake County Township Assessors Association.
