Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?Iâ#128;™ve lived in Lake Zurich for more than 17 years and have seen our Ela library grow and change along with the growing Ela Township Community. I think the library is in a great place, however there is still a lot of work to be done for the library to fulfill itâ#128;™s mission to the Ela Township community. I am running because I feel its important to have different perspectives on the Ela Library board to help ensure the needs of all of the residents of the township are considered. Perspectives not only from a financial oversight point of view, but also from the viewpoint of technology adoption in a fast changing environment and the advocacy for the library in the community. If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of important initiatives you've led. If you are a non-incumbent, tell us what contributions you would make.In addition to providing financial oversight that helps ensure the taxpayers dollars are utilized to their benefit, with my background of enterprise technology sales and marketing, I offer a different perspective of how Ela Library can provide benefits to the community in a way that can resonate with the residents of Ela Township.Do you have a library card? How long have you had it? How often do you use it?I am an avid reader and have had a library card all my life. One of the first things we did when we moved to Lake Zurich is to get a library cards for the family and I am proud of the fact that we have been able to instill that love of reading to our kids. I am always utilizing the library resources and am at the library at least once a week.Space is an issue at many libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.I believe the Ela library has done a very good job in handling space issues for this rapidly growing community. As the community continues to grow and expand, when space becomes a major issue, I would advocate the exploration of all the available options and do a detailed analysis of the how each option would provide the optimum benefits for the Ela Library patrons. And from that information recommend the best solution. What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change? The library is one of the most valuable resources provided by our government. And while the economy will always go through up and down cycles and technology will continue to advance at an exponential rate, the role mission of the library must remain steady/ constant regardless of these changes. Additionally, because of the consistent economic and technological changes, the library must also remain nimble enough to react and adjust its strategy in order to best serve its patrons and the community. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Candidate did not respond. Please name one current leader who most inspires you. It's a combination of Larry Ellison of Oracle Elon Musk of TESLA/SpaceX for galvanizing people around their visions creating billion dollar world-changing companies. What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?My Grandmother taught me that 'If you donâ#128;™t have confidence in yourself, no one else will either.'If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I would definitely travel the world with my family, exploring different cultures. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Math has been indespensible to me in all aspects of my life; from family, business and career to my hobbies of photography kendo. If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?I'm consistently working to instill in them that "What you visualize believe, you can achieve."
