I bring forward the necessary fiscal knowledge and the awareness of what it will take to attract development. Bringing retail business back to our community to serve our residents.What is your opinion of video gambling in Long Grove? As a trustee would you actively seek to repeal gambling, expand it, or leave it alone for now? Explain your thinking.Long Grove needs to search for additional forms of revenues with out additional taxes to the residents. The current video gambling is providing that exact benefit for the village and the merchants businesses. I would be in favor of expanding the gaming in a controlled manner.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?When I reviewed the Long Grove operating budget 70% plus of the budget is being spent in 3 categories. Employee Compensation, Village security and Public Works. Is the Village getting the greatest value for the monies being spent on these categories is something I would want to examine closely. The village needs to develop revenues to tackle the long term infrastructure needs of the community.Is the historic district on the right track? Explain how, in your opinion, Long Grove gets its "downtown" roaring again.The historic district is collapsing. The LG community is very fortunate to have a family willing to invest there monies into bringing the center of our community back. We need to find innovative ideas to work with this family and the other property owners to create an environment to attract development and new businesses. This will require investment by the village that will ultimately provide a return on the villages investment and benefits to the community.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?We need to be willing to take a chances on new ideas. We cannot continue on the current coarse. Its not working and we are losing ground. We need to be willing to take that leap of faith on strategic concepts that are new and innovative. Long Grove is a recognized brand we need to reposition ourselves.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?LG is a fantastic community to raise a family but we need to invest wisely and strengthen the long term planning for the benefit of all residents of Long Grove. * We need to build and maintain our current infrastructure to enhance our property values and attract businesses to the Village. * We need to implement a 5 yr. Capital plan, Revenue plan, TIF plan, and Operating plan that would be a guide for responsible financial management. * Develop a long term Sanitary Sewer Plan and Drinking Water Plan,Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Although not a "current leader" NYC mayor Rudolph Giuliani for his transformation of NYC.What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Work hard in life and success will follow.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Spend more time with my father prior to his passing. You truly learn what eternal means after the passing of a parent.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Math which ultimately lead me to business school and my CPA.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?In life you only get one reputation.
