Carmel Catholic High School show choir to perform with Foreigner at Genesee Theater

Members of the Carmel Catholic High School show choir will perform in a sold-out event with the famed British-American rock band Foreigner at Waukegan's Genesee Theater on Friday, March 20, 2015.

As part of Foreigner's ongoing charity partnership with the Grammy Foundation, Carmel Catholic's show choir, Cadence, will sing with the band in a performance of their timeless 1984 hit "I Want to Know What Love Is."

Foreigner has partnered with the Grammy Foundation to support its mission of maintaining and restoring music education in America's public schools, and raising awareness about the importance of music as part of each child's complete education.

"As far as I'm concerned, music is not only the most powerful form of communication between the peoples of the world, it provides a gateway that opens up a fantastic new dimension of feeling and creativity. Anything we can do to provide our young ones with the tools to express themselves through music, is our goal in this partnership," Foreigner guitarist and founding member Mick Jones said.

As part of its charity initiative, Foreigner is donating $500.00 to Carmel Catholic High School to use toward its music program.

"Members of Carmel's Cadence are thrilled to be able to perform with the group Foreigner. For me, it is a flashback to my younger days. For the students, it is a new experience-a chance to sing as the backup group on one of their top songs. We are so excited!" said Kent Parry, Director of Choral Activities at Carmel Catholic High School.
