Ex-Indianapolis high school coach accused of child seduction

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A former assistant swim coach at an Indianapolis high school has pleaded not guilty to charges alleging that he had an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old student.

WTHR-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1avwUlR ) that 36-year-old Matthew Carrington had no comment after entering his not guilty plea Friday to a felony child seduction charge.

Carrington allegedly sent explicit text messages to a 16-year-old student who's a member of the swim team. The teen also alleges he fondled her on school grounds.

Carrington is the former assistant swim coach at North Central High School. He was fired from the high school Tuesday after the allegations surfaced.

Marion County deputy prosecutor Kristina Korobov says the girl's parents "did the right thing" in coming forward after discovering the inappropriate text messages.
