Hultquist leaves library board race:
Wauconda Area Library board member Mary Hultquist has announced she is withdrawing from the April 7 library board race. "After much contemplation and serious soul searching, I have decided to remove my name from consideration in the upcoming election as candidate as a trustee to the board of the Wauconda Area Library," Hultquist said in her statement. She has been on the library board since 2010, when she was appointed to fill a vacancy, library officials said, and she was elected to a seat in 2011. Her departure leaves four candidates seeking three, 4-year terms. They are incumbents Ernest Kosty and Terry Stevig and newcomers Virginia Muller and Rebecca Coolidge.
