Geneva Cyclones teams win championships

The Geneva Cyclones U-18 Midget Major Hockey team won the CSDHL 2015 Championship on Feb. 8 in St. Louis, Missouri and the Cyclones U-16 Midget Minor hockey team won the CSDHL Championship in West Dundee the same day. There are teams in Central States Developmental Hockey League from Arizona, Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri.

The Cyclones U-18 Midget Majors and the U-16 Midget Minors are both currently ranked second in the state of Illinois in their respective age groups.

The Blackhawk Cup State Playoff round robin games started for the both Cyclones teams Feb. 26. The Cyclones are hoping to advance both teams to the state championship game on March 8, and then onto nationals at the end of March in Troy, Michigan.

The Geneva Cyclones U-18 Midget Major Hockey, coached by Jon Krall, Pete Rutili and Brian Hill, includes: Sam Leckbee, Kyle Tintera, Bradley Wilson, Conner Bingham, Matthew Balara, Joey Amato, Thomas Ambrosia, Cody Esposito, Matthew Wilson, Jared Hippman, Matthew D'Aquila, Brian Atchley, Frank Basic, Christian Rutledge, Trevor Fisk, Valentino Wilson, Dylan Alamian, Jack Penniall, and Derek Struwing.

The Geneva Cyclones U-16 Midget Minor hockey team, coached by Mike Real and Jon Krall, includes: Joey Smagacz, Breydon Hemminger, Tom Yurisich, Brett Tierney, Marco Wiedenbeck, Joey Papa, Dawson Marshall, Landon Real, Kyle Waldusky, Zeb Scheffler, Nick Stofcheck, Jack Struwing, Josh Meyer, Adam Stalzer, Jared Weaver, Ethan Shrout, Brian Bracken, Jonathan Pacocha, Will Rathje, Jacob Coleman.
