Nature photography topic of Audubon Society presentation in Libertyville

The Lake County Audubon Society welcomes the public to its program "Nature Photography - My Experiences in Sweden and Lake County" from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 2, at the Libertyville village hall, 118 W. Cook Ave.

The presentation is by Audubon Society board member Emma England. Through conservation, monitoring, and her background in biology, England has developed as a nature photographer.

She will show images depicting the variety of wildlife that can be seen in Lake County, with the main focus on bird photography. The differences between bird species in Europe and the United States will be illustrated.

Born in England, where she trained in biology, Emma later moved to Sweden, where she lived for two years and trained in photography, with a specialty in bird photography. In 2012, she moved to the U.S. and volunteered for many nonprofit groups specializing in monitoring and restoration of wildlife habitats.

England has competed and won an award in a local camera club. She will provide information and tips for those interested in starting out in nature photography, and attendees will learn about contrasting bird species as well.

Details of an annual nature photography competition, to be introduced this year by Lake County Audubon Society, will be provided. For details, visit www.lakecountyaudubon.org.

The mission of the Lake County Audubon Society is education, conservation and restoration of natural ecosystems, focusing on birds, other wildlife, and their habitats for the benefit of humanity and the earth's biological diversity.
