Hawthorn Woods holds Winter Carnival

The village of Hawthorn Woods had all the cold elements in place for Saturday's 2nd Annual Winter Carnival.

Community Park at Old McHenry and Quentin Roads was the site of the three-hour event. Entertainment, music, games, sledding and old-fashioned wagon rides made for chilly but family-friendly fun.

Also at this free event, carnival goers had a chance to snowshoe, run through an inflatable obstacle course and get closer look at village vehicles in a touch-a-truck display.
