Night life: Crosstown Pub opens in Batavia

New Crosstown spot

Crosstown Pub and Grill recently opened a new location - this time in Batavia. The sports-themed pub plans to highlight the rivalry between Batavia and Geneva high schools as well as the Chicago Cubs and White Sox competitiveness on its 22 TVs. Known for its burgers and wings, Crosstown Pub features a wine-and-whiskey bar and a second bar with 40 beers on tap.

Spears' love fest

The love never dies at Spears, where drink specials throughout February are sure to win your heart. They include: $5 black and tans on Mondays; $6 Margarita Sauza Blue; 50 percent off bottles of wine on Wednesdays; $6 Grey Goose Moscow Mules on Thursdays; $1 PBRs on Sunday. Don't forget the bourbon of the month: $5 Old Weller Antique singles or doubles for $7.50.

Beer Summit

Talk beer at this month's Beer Summit at Wine Knows in Grayslake. Learn about Irish and Scottish ales from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. Each summit includes beer samples and food. $25 per person.
