Endorsement: Koske, Marr and Murrey for Fox Lake board

Fox Lake voters have four solid candidates running for the three 4-year seats.

Challenger and former Fox Lake trustee Jonathan Mumford is up against incumbents Nancy Koske, Brian Marr and Greg Murrey on the April 7 ballot.

Development of the Sayles property along Route 12 and improvements to Lakefront Park are two areas of interest to the candidates. All four have valuable ideas for the park, which will not only benefit the amenities near the lake, but also draw people to the downtown business area.

The incumbents say a hotel is a priority to kick off development of the Sayles property. They believe a chain restaurant and other retail businesses would soon follow. Mumford wants Fox Lake's image to improve first and says better code enforcement would help.

Though Mumford would make a strong trustee for Fox Lake, we see no good reason to remove the incumbents. The Daily Herald endorses Koske, Marr and Murrey.
