Now, adults missing a teachable moment

Forgotten in this JRW mess are the children who were cheated out of an opportunity to play on the JRW All-Star team because the adults in charge recruited illegal players into the league. To worsen the situation, instead of admitting wrongdoing and accepting the consequence of cheating, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, Father Michael Pfleger, and parents are missing a valuable teachable moment by playing the race card.

Shame.

Why not heed the words of former JRW player Alonso Ramirez, who coaches baseball at Palatine High School and said in the Daily Herald, "I was heartbroken to hear about this. It's a hard lesson to learn."

Nevertheless, Rev. Jackson, Father Pfleger and parents, it is one worth teaching.
