Boston University holds off Loyola (Md.) 73-60

BOSTON (AP) - Cedric Hankerson scored 20 points, half of them from the free-throw line, to lead Boston University to a 73-60 win over Loyola (Md.) on Saturday.

John Papale and Cheddi Mosely added 12 points apiece for BU (11-14, 7-7 Patriot League), which controlled the boards 42-28 to avenge an overtime loss to Loyola on Jan. 18 but struggled with turnovers, 17-13. Nathan Dieudonne had 11 rebounds.

The Terriers broke away early in the second half with a 12-0 run that included 3-pointers from Hankerson and Mosely to make it 51-38 with 11:38 left and led the rest of the way.

Loyola cut the gap to 3 with Andre Walker's 3-pointer to make it 61-58 with 1:46 left, but BU clinched it with 12-for-13 shooting from the line down the stretch.

Walker led Loyola (10-15, 6-8) with 13 points, Tyler Hubbard added 11. Franz Rassman and Chancellor Barnard had 10 apiece.
