White Sox, Albers agree to minor league deal

CHICAGO (AP) - The White Sox and reliever Matt Albers have agreed to a minor league contract.

The right-hander would get a get $1.5 million, one-year contract if he's added to Chicago's 40-man roster.

He was limited to eight appearances with Houston last season because of shoulder problems, and he gave up one run in eight innings.

Albers was 3-1 in each of the previous two seasons, compiling a 3.14 ERA in 56 games for Cleveland in 2013 and a 2.39 ERA in 63 appearances for Boston and Arizona in 2012.

His agreement was announced Friday.
